About Me

I started using colored pencils my daughter had just to add a bit of color to my black ink drawings.

Just a little here and there for some interest. I had no idea there was such a thing as artist grade colored pencils until I found a set at an artist supply store. I couldn't believe how smooth and beautiful they were to work with, and the color saturation was wonderful.

After experimenting with them, I came to realize creating with colored pencils wasn't much different than working with other mediums. Mixing colors on the paper, layering, color blocking, and using compliments for shading. It felt very natural to have all of these beautiful colors at my disposal but in pencil form.

My work is currently displayed at Northland Artists Gallery in Weston Missouri and Albrecht-Kemper Art Museum in their gift shop. I also participate in art festivals during the summer and fall months in the Midwest.
